The Health Benefits of Cinnamon

Not only does cinnamon taste great, it also contains many health benefits such as: anti-clot formation, anti-microbial action, it helps maintain normal blood sugar, helps with weight control and it boosts brain function.
Cinnamon has calcium and fiber that protect against heart disease and improve colon health, among other things. It also has a high ORAC value, which is a measurement of antioxidant activity.
So add some cinnamon to your morning smoothie or your hot cereal, spice up your coffee or herbal tea with some extra cinnamon or add it to your raspberry vinaigrette; there are endless ways to spice up your life with cinnamon. But for the health benefits, be sure to eat the cinnamon without the bun attached to it 😉
